Unfortunately, at the same day of my opening was the Big Manifestation in Floripa. We couldn't change the day and I had to be at the gallery and take responsibility of all invitations we distributed. Because of the Manifestation, I was sure that nobody would come. What was my surprise when people started coming!
Not as much as usual but this time - "Less is more" - came true. I had more time to talk to everyone. I've got couple of new students, good mood factory products, the limited edition "Bosque", disappeared immediately, and the writer of Children books, I had for the first time possibility to talk with, liked so much my paintings that wants to introduce me to her publisher. I'm happy enough...

“Figuração Pós-Moderna” - The exhibition at the Casa Açoriana - invitation

Não obstante as controvérsias que o termo “Pós-Moderno” desperta, parece-nos que é o que melhor se aplica a certas novas formas de expressão surgidas nas artes do último quarto do século vinte. Sem definir exatamente um movimento ou um estilo, refere-se a um certo estado de espírito compartilhado por vários criadores que surgiram nesse período de transição. Nessa coletiva intitulada Figuração Pós- Moderna, reunimos alguns artistas que vem trabalhando com a figura e que têm em comum algumas características que o termo pós- moderno engloba.
Hugo Rubilar, por exemplo, utiliza como ponto de partida os métodos, materiais e imagens da arte pop.
Já nos trabalhos de Anita Damas a pintura neo-pop, colorida e sensual, mescla-se a dramática expressão e tratamento neo-expressionista.
Eliane Prudêncio transita por tempos e estilos fundindo colagens, pinceladas gestuais, grafismos, em pinturas que fundem o simbolismo religioso a um senso de total liberdade no tratamento da matéria e das superfícies.
Silvia Carvalho recorre a pigmentos naturais para construir obras onde o modelo vivo é enquadrado em espaços opressivos de grande dramaticidade e impacto.
Silvia Teske e Ricardo Ramos tratam, cada um a sua maneira, personagens inspirados no universo HQ, nos cartuns e nos grafites urbanos, que são também a inspiração das figuras de Sérgio Flores. Silvia Teske vem desenvolvendo uma bem humorada e satírica série de ‘tias’ em divertidas cenas domésticas; ora as tias são surpreendidas fazendo tricô ou posando para um álbum de família. Muito divertidas e sugestivas também são suas cenas das tias ciclistas. Ricardo foca como tema os banhistas e o faz de uma maneira muito original.
Juliana Hoffmann, utilizando a técnica mista, justapõe, através da transparência das chapas acrílicas, plotagens fotográficas sobre fundos previamente pintados. O resultado é surpreendente e visualmente requintado.
Andréia Honaiser, com sua proposta de roupas no varal ou nos cabides, cria metáforas sobre a presença-ausência de personagens imaginários.
Rodrigo Cunha participa com dois óleos sobre tela; um deles aborda a tradição da natureza morta vista sob uma ótica renovada, a outra obra traz um dos seus já clássicos personagens envolto em sua misteriosa solidão, com seu clima andrógino de romântica nostalgia.
Em suas criações, nas mais diferentes propostas e estilos, esses artistas assinalam um retorno a pintura. Com suas obras coloridas, sensuais ou dramáticas, transmitem uma sensação de prazer pela redescoberta dos aspectos táteis e sensíveis da matéria.

Today is the opening of the exhibition "Ognuno il suo stile" I participate in at the Tartaglia Arte Gallery in Rome. These are the paintings I have prepared for this event. "Love", "Tea-time", "Reindeer", "Jazz". I want to thank to Riccardo Tartaglia and Regina Nobrez for the invitation and care of my artwork.
I have never been in Rome before, but because of my paintings, I feel that I'm already over there...
